Hi my name is Taya Rodrigues.
My collegiate aspirations include an athletic scholarship to study sports medicine and play the game I love at the highest level possible.
Football History
Since I was 10 years old I have been training with my country’s national academy. At the age of 14 I made my international debut for Bermuda. Since then I have played in World Cup Qualifiers and Concacaf Championships totaling over 400 minutes across the u20, u17, and u15 age groups. From 2022-2024 I completed my GCSEs at Rossall School in the UK. There I learnt the English playing style from quality coaches and the importance of technique, leadership, and discipline. I was a reserve GK for the Headmasters u18 girls team that made it to Back-Back-Back national finals. I was also the starting GK for the 2023 u15 season that made it to a ISFA national semi final.
I apply 3 principles to everything I do on and off the field.
1. Try until you can’t try anymore.
2. Focus and remove distractions.
3. Stay positive and trust in Gods plan.
The above has helped me create a mentality to achieve my academic and athletic goals.
In terms of academia I have already completed the equivalent to a US diploma with A+ to B grades in England. While at IMG I am enrolled in AP Micro and Macro Economics, Honors American History, Honors American Literature, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Honors Spanish and Honors Algebra II.

As a Goalkeeper
I pride myself in my ability to bring players together because without trust and proper communication a team will not succeed. My main strengths are distribution, communication, crosses, 1v1s and shot handling/stopping. I am the type of player to arrive early and leave late. I gave been described as a coachable player as I am good at taking instructions.
