Karyna Steele '23 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up watching my older sister, my dad, and my uncle play soccer. The highlight of my career, so far, is making the varsity team in freshman year. Making varsity changed my mindset for the better. I became more competitive, as I started almost every game. When COVID hit, and we were put into quarantine, I took the time to work on my skills and get ready for the season. Playing soccer has taught me discipline. I learned that arriving on time means arriving 15 minutes early. It has taught me how to keep my composure. It has also taught me how to use my strengths and deal with my weaknesses, to achieve a better level of performance. I know that soccer will continue to teach me these important values.

What I am most excited about for college is to gain independence and have a more specific course of study. I am also very excited to see how good I can become as a player. I want to compete at the highest level that I can and be a member of a tight-knit team.
