Sally Schackow '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Sally Schackow and I would love to introduce myself. I am 16 years old and am currently a junior at P.K. Yonge DRS in Gainesville, Florida. I have been on the P.K. Yonge Girls Varsity Soccer team for 5 years (since the 7th grade) and I have been a starter since the start of my 7th grade season. During my time at P.K. Yonge, our school has won the Class 3A District Championship 3 times. After these district titles, we continued on to the Regional Finals in our 2018-2019 season, the Regional Quarterfinals in our 2019-2020 season, and this past season (2020-2021) the Regional Semifinals. I play club soccer for Gainesville Soccer Alliance. For both of these teams I play the defensive center midfield position. It has been a dream and goal of mine to play college soccer for as long as I can remember. The idea of pursuing this dream encourages me to train harder, take on challenges, and work hard everyday.

Along with soccer, I am a very dedicated student. Education is highly important to me and my family. I work hard to balance out soccer and school in order to produce a quality performance in both. In saying this, my school doesn’t interfere with my soccer and my soccer doesn’t interfere with my school. I look forward to practicing the sport I love everyday. Soccer is a time where I am not worried, stressed, or frustrated about school or life in general. Being a student athlete, I have gained valuable skills like time management, hard work, and focus.

I am as strong and fearless as I am sweet and kind. I am the motor of my teams, generating hard work, great soccer skill, but also kindness and friendship. My sweet spirit helps my teammates feel encouraged and cared for. I am a selfless soccer player that holds together my team to help them succeed. I never have a complaint; I just keep working hard and creating great opportunities for the people around me. I have a heart for others and a love for soccer.
