From the age of seven, one of my favorite aspects of being on a team was the feeling of inclusion and having a second family outside of my own. I truly believe that this aspect of soccer is what helps me stay in love with the game. Overall, one of the most important things I have learned from soccer is that winning games is just as important as creating true bonds and friendships along the way.
Starting out as a Junior Varsity player my freshman year was not an ideal scenario for me. However, for many games I was pulled up to play with the varsity team and when my high school headed to the District Playoffs, I was permanently placed on the Varsity roster and continued to play at the Varsity level since. Playing almost every minute of those games and our team being district runner-up all three years and making it to regionals, my drive only continued to grow and push for a better standing within playoffs.
I am very committed to the game as well as my academics. I hold my academic standing very high. Therefore, finding a school that fits my academic needs while allowing me to succeed and further my game play is important to me. With that being said, juggling academics and soccer has had its obstacles. I not only attend the high school; I am a full-time dual enrollment student. Beginning college level courses at 16 years old and playing soccer five to six days a week, I had to learn very quickly that time-management and prioritizing soccer and school is vital. I believe that through this journey of sports and higher-level academics; I have only become more driven to constantly improve my athletic abilities while maintaining a passion for the game.
