Soccer instantly became my passion at age eleven when I first started playing competitively at my local club. I love being on the field whether I’m practicing with my team, playing a pick up game in the park, or competing in the State Final Four. Soccer fuels my competitive nature, to me there is nothing better than battling someone for the ball, blowing by a defender on a run, or playing a perfect ball to someone’s feet. Every time I walk off the field from a hard practice or game I feel alive.
This passion for the game has kept me moving thru difficult moments as I faced recovery from two injuries that slowed my recruiting efforts. In March of my Sophomore year I was playing in State Cup and took a hit to the knee before the Elite 8 round and suffered a minor meniscus tear. The scope and recovery kept me from ID camps that summer but I came back determined to make my game better and body stronger. My Junior year of Club and High School soccer went very well as I played a key role on both teams and made it to the 4A State Final Four for the second time in three years. I was set for a busy Showcase season when I got hit with a elbow behind the ear that knocked me out and gave me my first and only concussion. The recovery was slow going but in the process I got to decide if playing college soccer was really what I wanted for my life. I knew that I would have to fight harder than I ever had before to make my way back. After I was completely cleared by my doctor I finished out the school year with all A’s and began working on coming back both physically and mentally stronger. It wasn’t easy. I worked out and played for two to three hours a day five times a week. I trained with a personal coach to increase my skill and speed to a college level. Additionally, I played small sided games against the men at a local club. I was usually the only girl there but I earned their respect through my play and toughness. Through this struggle, I realized I love soccer too much to let a set back stop me, quitting isn’t an option.
My goal is to play soccer at the highest level for the longest time possible. I want to compete and push myself to the limit to see where it can take me in my soccer career. My intensity, drive, and passion for the game allow me to keep going when others may quit. If you bring me on to your team you’ll have a player that enjoys getting up and grinding thru early morning workouts, digs deeper in the pivotal moments that decide a game, and a person that loves every minute of being on the field.
