Personal Statement
Ever since I learned how to kick a soccer ball, sports have been a big part of my life. In middle school I participated and lettered in Varsity sports including swimming, cross country, tennis, and soccer. In high school I have carried my athletics passion forward in cross country, track, and soccer. During these year, I have also played competitive club soccer. Of all the sports, soccer has always been my favorite by far. It is a place where anyone can come together and work towards one goal. We all share the same values of loyalty and discipline. I train hard to not only better myself, but also to not let my team down. I want to be able to make that perfect pass, tackle that quick attacking player, or score that needed goal. Soccer gives me motivation in all areas of my life and I would love to continue it in my college years.
I am a versatile player and can see the field very well. I have experience with most positions on the field including mostly defense and midfield, but I have also played a bit of winger. Although I prefer my right, I can make a play with either foot if needed. I understand that I need to work to be better at certain elements of the game, but I’m very coachable and will work enthusiastically to improve.
My commitment also applies to my academics. I have a high GPA and have been awarded heads-list throughout both middle school and ninth grade. I enjoy my science and language classes the most and am excited to take advanced science classes. I have also joined my school’s volunteer club and writing center.
