Personal Statement
My name is Kennedy Rist and I am a goalkeeper. My goal for when I graduate high school is to play soccer at a highly competitive school that also provides superior academics. I will be entering my junior year attending EastLake high school. Academically, I maintain a 4.36 weighted GPA and am ranked 30/564 in my grade and 16 out of 260 within my class program taking all honors and AP classes. Outside of soccer, I am a 10 year pianist, a foodie who loves to cook and bake, and enjoys playing other sports as well including basketball, ping pong, and running track. I am also involved in my school theatre program as one of the main stage managers for our productions. Although I like many other activities, nothing can beat my love for soccer. Everyday I am always finding a way to improve myself in my position both mentally and physically. 5-7 times a week I am out working to be become the best. Twice a week, I train with my goalkeeper coach Kevin Clinton who is a former pro player for the Tampa Bay Rowdies-Old NASL. He has also coached, trained, and helped develop players like Zac Macbeth (Philadelphia Union & Colorado Rapids), Jeff Attinella ( Real Salt Lake, Rowdies) and Bryane Heaberlin (Women’s U-20s World Cup Champion, starting keeper) and I hope to be his next. Twice a Week I also trained with my team, 1-3 I go to the gym, and 4-6 I go out on my own to work on goalkeeping or footwork and juggling. Not only do I work hard but I try to be the hardest worker, I feel there is no excuse for someone working harder then me which is part of what pushes me everyday. There is nothing and no one who is going to stop me from working hard to achieve my goals and I know that with passion and determination I can make an impact at any school on and off the field.
