Hi my name is Kennedy Rist and I am a goalkeeper. My goal for when I graduate high school is to play College women’s soccer at the most competitive level at a school with superior academics, where I can continue my education and my love for soccer. I attend Eastlake High School maintaining a 4.36 GPA as well as taking all honors and A.P classes. Outside of soccer, I also a 10 year piano player and I enjoy other sports such as basketball (played school team 7th and 8th grades, MVP 7th grade) and ping pong. For the past 4 years I have been the starting and only goalkeeper on my club teams. What makes me different from every other goalkeeper? I work extremely hard not only on goalkeeping techniques but also on Field Techniques and Footwork. There are too many goalkeepers that do not spend enough time working on these skills. Around 4-6 days a week I go out and practice footwork, jukes, and juggling the ball. Doing this helps me with my ball control and under pressure situations in goal. For 5 years I have been taking lessons from Kristin Russell, St. John University Alumni, NCAA record holder and former pro player in Iceland for Aftureldingfutball club. I also started training one on one with Kevin Clinton former professional player for Tampa Bay Rowdies – Old NASL and Northern Ireland. He has also coached and trained as the pro level having worked with and help develop, Zack MacMath (Philadelphia Union & Colorado Rapids), Jeff Attinella (Real Salt Lake, Rowdies) and Bryane Heaberlin (Women U-20s WC Champions, starting Keeper). In goal I am very aggressive and determined. I am not afraid of what comes at me and I am not afraid to take my mistakes and learn from them. I dedicate my life to soccer and I will continue to practice and work as hard I do to reach my goal of playing at a high level in women’s college soccer and hopefully I can turn that into playing at an even higher level.
