I am a great team player. Even though I am a forward, I make many great passes, especially when we play 1 forward. I am also a versatile player. I have played all positions on my travel team, even a little center back and goalie back in U10-12. I love being a forward but i’m just as good as outside mid or attacking mid. Although right foot dominant, I happen to have an excellent left foot. I have played left side since the age of 6, whether left forward or left mid. My love of soccer extends all year long. I have played 3v3 soccer since U6 with a national and world championship under my belt.
As a varsity freshman at Lee County High School, I was first team and the leading scorer (22 goals) in Region 1-AAAAAA. Unfortunately, I tore my ACL and both meniscus in the first game of the state playoffs that freshman year. I had surgery in June 2017. I missed my fall 2017 travel season, but was cleared to play at the beginning of my sophomore varsity season. I used that season as a rebuilding season. It was a time to get back in shape, get my foot back on the ball, and make my knee stronger. I only played maybe 30% of each varsity game, but came away with 9 goals. I found the knee brace hindered my usual speed, which reduced my playing time.
This school year I’ve been focusing on making my knee stronger and getting in better shape. The fall semester I went to our athletic trainer 3-4 days per week and the physical therapist once a week. I was able to play the entire game during travel season and enjoyed some playing time with our older U19 team.
This spring's varsity season was interesting. We had a new coach who loved how aggressive I was on the field so he decided to play me mainly as a centerback, with a bit at midfield/forward and even 3 games as goalie. I did end up with 5 goals in my limited time in the midfield/forward positions. I was also selected as 2nd team All-Region as a centerback. I understand that varsity soccer isn't always handled like travel soccer so sometimes you play a different position than you are used to. I still enjoyed playing with my friends and trying to improve my game from a new position. We will continue with our varsity summer season this summer with a few 7v7 tournaments and 11v11 games. However, I will be happy to go back to being a forward/midfielder during travel ball season this fall.
I plan to be pre-Med in college. I’m interested in schools with a strong science or biomedical engineering program. My mom says I’ve wanted to be a doctor since I was 3 when I fell, cut my hand, and had to have a brace to let it heal. I had a scarf I used to wrap hands and ankles all the time.
My passion is working with special needs kids. This summer will be my 5th year attending Georgia Special Olympics YLead forum. Only about 40 kids get accepted for the program each year. I’ve organized a soccer camp the past 2 years for our local special needs kids. I recruited coaches and planned all the stations. I was even interviewed by our local news channel this year. I’m also a buddy for their baseball league, kickball league, and tennis camps.
