My name is Brooke Stansel. I am a left footed outside midfielder who can use both feet. I am a confident person on and off the field, but I know I can always learn and grow as a player and a student. I always strive to be the best version of myself. I hold myself to a very high standard. I have played soccer since I was 4 years old. I love the game and would love to play in college. I train privately 4 days a week in addition to twice a week club practice. Being from a small town it was difficult to find a competitive club team close by. I travel over an hour each way to practice. I am told I am very coach-able, disciplined, and determined. I am a leader on the field who also takes my education seriously. I am a great student who has pushed myself academically by taking several honors and AP classes, I am also dual enrolled and take college classes. I am well respected by my teachers and professors. I am not 100% decided on my major, but I am leaning towards exercise science/ physical therapy.
Even though I am busy academically and with soccer, I make time to give back to my wonderful community. I am on the leadership team with my church and I volunteer with Fostering Bulloch, our local soup kitchen and as a Vacation Bible School leader. Last year I was selected to be a part of our community’s well respected Youth Leadership team. This experience helped teach me how to take an active role in making our community even better.
An obstacle I have had to over come while balancing every day life, academics, and sports, is my food allergy. I have had to learn to balance my training with nutrition. I provide my own food and snacks when necessary to avoid cross contamination. Though this is a serious matter, I make sure to plan ahead and stay vigilant on what I am eating so my allergy doesn’t hold me back from achieving my goals.
I would love to attend a small school that is strong academically and a good fit for me to pursue my passion of playing soccer in college.
