My name is Autumn Apana-Purcell and I am a 2025 graduate. The club team I play for is for Arsenal FC 07 in Oahu, Hawaii. I attend and play high school at James Campbell High School. I wear #24 for High School and #25 for club. I am currently defensive/attacking mid, but can also play as a striker and center back. I am very versatile when it comes to where I play on the field, I can and am willing to play anywhere on the field that a coach thinks I best fit.
I currently hold a 4.0 GPA. My academics are just as important as athletics, making sure to keep up with my grades. I grew up playing soccer since the age of 7. My favorite thing about playing is the competitiveness that comes out in me and the friends I make along the way. I am currently the captain of my club team because of the leadership I show on and off the field.
During high school season mental and physical is very important to me, my teammates and our coach. We not only work on physical training but mental training. We work on penalties and set pieces and a lot of breathing exercises are involved to cancel out the noise and focus on that moment. This mental practice helped us take the OIA Championship when it came down to taking penalties at the end of the game.
After high school I hope to combine the love I have for soccer and put it into a nursing or criminology field. I am excited to contribute athletically and academically to a college. I am both passionate and committed to the things that I sign up for. I am hoping for a college with a competitive program and academics that well prepare me for my future. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
