Personal Statement

Success has never come easily to me, whether on the field or in school. Some might consider me average, but I am not. The two things which set me apart from others are my work ethic and competitive drive. I may not stand out at first with some, and while I do love to have fun, I will compete with and outwork everyone around me to be the best I can be. My goal is to play collegiate soccer and pursue an education in a reputable school with strong academic programs.

My Dad is my role model, having always encouraged me to have a strong work ethic. He also was considered average, but through his hard work, he succeeded in walking on to a D1 baseball team and eventually earned a scholarship. My Dad instilled in me to practice with passion, while enjoying and having fun in the process. He has shown me that with continued hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

Since I was eight years old, I have played with the same club team, Shockers 04. Being a part of this team has helped mold me into the team person and player I am today. It is through this team that I have learned about sacrifice, loyalty and commitment. Also important are the relationships and experiences I've gained and will carry through my life. I know that I am ready for the next phase of my soccer career, and look forward to learning and playing at a higher level.

The individual qualities that describe me best are: competitive, passionate, motivated, driven, and determined. The team player qualities that describe me best are: unselfish, humble, reliable, honest, and playful.

If given an opportunity, I will work hard, never quit, and will appreciate and embrace every moment and experience. I hope that you will allow me the chance to show you how I can be an asset to your team.
