My name is Sydnie Clark and I am from Idaho Falls, Idaho. I am fifteen years old and have played soccer since I was four. I play soccer for the Fusion Soccer Club. I also play soccer for Skyline High School. My jersey number is 10 for both my club and high school team. My graduation year is 2019. I will be eighteen years old when I graduate. My goal is to play college soccer for a Division 1 university.
In the year of 2004 I saw the US Women's National Soccer team playing in the Olympics that were held in Athens, Greece. When I saw them play I looked at my parents and said that I wanted to soccer in the Olympics. I have played soccer for eleven years. At the age of four I fell in love with soccer. From a very young age I knew that I wanted to play soccer and try to advance to college and professional soccer. I am very passionate and driven about soccer. Everyday I work hard to improve my skills and continue to get better. During every practice and every game I give 110% of effort. I never give up and I always work hard to play my best. To me it would be a honor and privilege to be recruited to play college soccer.
From 5th grade through 8th grade I played for the Xtreme Soccer Club. I played starting center back for the U15 girls soccer team. I was promoted to team captain because the coach recognized how hard I worked. In 2015 while I was playing for Xtreme I was voted MVP at the Cache Valley Tournament for the U15 girls bracket. In 2014 and 2015 I participated in the Idaho ODP Youth Soccer Program. I was selected for the state pool for my age group both years.
I currently play for the Fusion Soccer Club on the U18 girls soccer team. My position is starting right center back for my Fusion. With the Fusion Soccer Club I have trained with Billy McNeil at a clinic that the club put on. Billy McNeil is a member of the US Soccer's US Coaching staff. He was also a Technical Director of Utah, Montana, and Cal South Youth Association. With Fusion I have also helped put on a soccer camp for youth children. I helped with the preparation, organization, and instruction of the camp.
The local high school where I play is Skyline High School. As a freshman I made the varsity team and I played starting right outside back. As a sophomore I play starting right center back for the varsity team. During the summer I train with returning college soccer players who play at universities on athletic scholarships for soccer. The summer of 2016 I went to the High School Elite Soccer Camp at the University of Oregon. I plan to go to many more college soccer camps in the summers of 2017 and 2018.
Outside of soccer I work diligently on my academics. I have a 3.88 GPA. As a sophomore I am taking AP biology along with Algebra 2 which is advanced math for sophomores. I am a member of the National Honors Society. I would like to pursue a career in the medical field more specifically physical therapy.
I am active in my community performing charity work. I volunteer at the Idaho Food Bank with National Honors Society. I help prepare food baskets during Thanksgiving and during Christmas I go and wrap presents to give to deliver to people.
I am very active besides soccer and love to be outside. I spend time with my family rock climbing, snowboarding/skiing, and mountain biking together.
