I hope to go to college at a school where I can play soccer and study Elementary Education. I'm not entirely settled on what I want to study but am considering being a school counselor/social worker. I know that I want to play soccer. I have a cousin who played soccer throughout college, and coached as well, and she loved the experience. I truly love the game. I am a patched ref and love to see all levels being played.
Academically, I am a good student getting a 3.82 GPA and taking AP and Honors classes. Balancing multiple sports and maintaining high grades is very important to me and my parents and I have been able to do both while also having my ref job in the Spring and Fall outdoor seasons.
On the field I am a competitor. I hate losing but it doesn't make me mad. It makes me want to be better. I coordinate the defense when the action is coming my way. I know how take a lot of punishment or dish it out in order to get the ball in traffic from my time on the basketball court. I'm an aggressive keeper who will charge an attacker. My strength is my ability to range throughout the entire box without fear and stop an attack before the shot is taken.
One thing that might stand out about my profile is that I don't have a lot of club experience. I've played soccer since I was 6 years old. I played on multiple rec teams and often played on my older brother's team (2 years older) and I held my own on the field against the boys. I wanted to participate in too many other sports to do club soccer year round. In middle school I competed in Sectionals in high jump and as a Freshman I competed as a Varsity High Jumper. I've always played basketball as well. At the high school level I've continued to play basketball as it is good cross training for goalkeeping. In addition to our club team practices I get special keeper training from Cristiano Costa who is the head women's coach at Chicago State University. He also played professionally and is a great trainer.
If you have taken the time to read my profile thank you for considering me. I hope to find the right place for me in a school that feels right.
