Personal Statement
Hi. My name is Patricia Georgiou. I am 17 years old and I am a senior at Warren Township High School in Gurnee , Illinois. I have been playing soccer for 11 years and I play on the FC1974 Elite Girls team in Libertyville, Illinois as the Goalkeeper.
Playing soccer for 11 years not has not only taught me how to be a better person but be a leader and control my life. It's taught me how to respect adults and respect people around me even if I am not close with them. I have learned that soccer helps me cope with things around me and its my passion in life.
Other things I like to do besides soccer is singing. I have been singing since I was 5. My major is leaning towards law but I would like to do something also that keeps me involved in sports and music. I have been involved in the musical program at my previous high school in Acapella Choir and the musical.
The reason I want to keep playing soccer is that I have been passionate about playing for most of my life now. It's taught me so much about not only who I am as a person but about life in general. I love the atmosphere that is brings in watching the sport, and playing the sport has brought so much joy in my life. That's why I want to continue playing soccer in college and after and why I always want to be around the sport.
I am really focused as a player to continue to grow to improve my skill. I look forward to being challenged on the field by my competition. I continue to train on the field and off with coaches that work with me on skill improvement and performance for my physical health.
I started my first High School Soccer season last spring as one of two starting Varsity Goalkeepers at Warren Township High School. We shared Regional Conference Title and went on for two rounds of playoffs. I earned Honorable Mention in All Conference for GK.
Because of Covid I never played at my past high school which I had made Varsity Goalkeeper. We moved to Gurnee to be closer to FC74 fields so I could train more.
