Soccer has always been a huge part of my life ever since I was little. I told my parents that I wanted to try it out to be on a team with my friends and since then I couldn't imagine my life without soccer. My goal is to play soccer in college.
I play soccer for my club and high school team, and soccer has not only been a huge part of my life, but also my family's. As a family we have always supported each other in our academics and sports. My two older siblings and parents support me 100% and help to push me to continue to strive to reach my potential. They are also athletes with my brother competing at the Division I collegiate level in cross country and track.
I have started every game for my travel team for the past 8 years, and also have started every game on my high school varsity team the past two years. I am a dedicated team mate, and a leader on the field helping guide the plays and driving disruption. My travel teammates are some of most closest friends even though we are split across 3 different high schools. On and off the field we have each others back. I have also played 4 games in Germany in 2015 as part of the International Experience Program.
Academically I enjoy my math and accounting courses and would like to pursue business while in college. I am looking for a school with a strong business program, a solid team environment and players that care about each other. I currently have a 3.9 out of 4.0 GPA, and have not taken my SAT yet given I am a sophomore in high school.
Outside of soccer, I also run cross country and have done so since I was in 4th grade competitively. I placed in the top 40 in state and also contributed to my team placing 3rd in state. I move from cross country which is great conditioning for soccer, into basketball. I have also played basketball for 8 years. In high school I was the captain the past two years and MVP of a winning 19-2 team. Through these seasons, I play soccer year round. This has taught me a lot about focus, dedication, planning, and balancing multiple things. I also referee rec and travel soccer. I am on student council and am involved in the special needs prom, along with volunteering my time with Feed My Starving Children and PADs.
I would like to continue my true sports love of soccer beyond high school and focus 100% on this sport. I am mentally and physically tough on the field, can read plays as they are evolving, and care about the teams that I play on.
