Since a very young age I have been determined to work for greatness, both academically and physically. The drive and passion inside me is my inspiration for achieving my goals. I have learned the importance of being independent, and always looking forward, by taking advantage of given opportunities. My success in soccer and my studies comes from my will to never give up. Overcoming obstacles and boundaries have helped to shape the way I perceive things in my life. My work ethic over the years has only improved with time, and effort. I feel like not only my physically capabilities, but my character sets me apart from others.
I fell in love with soccer the day I could walk. I decided improving my game, and putting in the hours to be the best possible player I could be is what I wanted to do with my life. My sheer passion and love for doing what I do best has blossomed and grown ever since. Staying fit and healthy is my lifestyle, one which soccer has abled me to continue. Many sports involve staying active individually, but also with others. Working with a team and learning new things from my peers is thrilling to me. I’ve found that working with a variety of people can always be a positive experience, and an enjoyable time. Along with that, taking leadership when appropriate is a very important skill set that I have been grateful to learn over time. Personally, assuming the leadership roll on a team comes naturally to me. However, that is not to say acknowledging the balance of following, and leading others is an excellent strategy to overall improvement.
Academics have certainly always had a very important roll in my life. I have grown up understanding and appreciating the importance of an education. Since a young age, I have thrived in a class room environment where time is of the essence, and being graded well independently and in a group is typical. Since attending a Laboratory High School, I have been challenged beyond compare, yet also been able to reach heights I did not know I was capable of. Skill sets such as time management and learning how to handle heavy loads of pressure have not always been easy, but more than often helpful. I’ve been very blessed to be given opportunities in school that have more or less shaped my study habits, and communication skills. To me, achieving success in school has come naturally, and something that I enjoy working for.
My goals and aspirations are many, but my drive and determination is endless. I believe I am student athlete unlike any other. The future is filled with potential that I look forward to exploring in my soccer career, and my academic course.
