Soccer has always been a huge part of my life and thanks to the support and sacrifices of my parents I’m where I am right now and there is no other way to thank them than to make them proud by being able to play college soccer as a first generation college student in the family. One thing about me as a player and person that my dad has taught me, is that I will always be open for criticism and advice, I’d rather constructive criticism or feedback than a “good game“ or “you did a great job”since I’ve always tried to improve game by game and since I’ve started playing, after every game my dad never told me good job he always made sure I acknowledged my mistakes on the game even if we won . I also like when teammates give me feedback since if there’s something that needs to be changed I’ll try to make it happen in order to make my teammates have more trust in their goalkeeper. Also throughout high school soccer so far I realized how important a persons mentality can affect your performance, starting freshman year soccer as a varsity might seem as a an accomplishment for many but I struggled mentally when I was in that spot, being surrounded by negativity and pressure by the upperclassmen made me question myself as an athlete which was a challenge I overcame. Junior year is my most memorable year so far since I was finally able to feel that confidence and positivity on the field
