Personal Statement
I am Paige Dill, and my versatility as a defender sets me apart from other players. As a center back, I hold a strong defensive line, pass the ball out of dangerous situations, and help direct other players on the field. I also play outside back and wingback, where I use my speed to draw away players with a run or beat opponents to a ball for a goal attempt. My strengths include my height, my speed, and the strength and accuracy of my kicking leg. I have led my team in free kicks and made goals off free kicks from as far back as the 40-yard line to help win key ECNL and state title games.
In addition to playing soccer, I am the kicker on my high school football team. Just one month after starting to kick footballs, I was able to make a 47-yard field goal. Training for football has really helped my soccer skills and I look forward to continuing to develop in both sports. Regardless of the game I'm playing, I bring my determination to the field for every practice and game and stay extremely engaged in what’s happening on the field.
I have a passion for soccer because it’s been a big part of my life for more than 11 years. Every day I am practicing or watching or talking about soccer, and I want to continue that level of engagement after high school. I am looking for a college soccer program that has a supportive environment and will develop players as individuals and as athletes. I am open to playing all positions and strive to play for a coach that will push and encourage me.
