Personal Statement
Hello everyone! My name is Morgan and I attend South Knox High School, located in a small city outside of Vincennes, IN. At an early age, soccer became an escape for me from the world. When I am playing, all that matters in those moments is being the best I can be for my team, rather than just myself. This quality has earned me a spot as team captain in my junior year of high school. The first thing that stands out about me on the field is my versatility. I love playing defense, but in the span of my career, I have played every single position besides goalie. Depending on what team we play, I will fill the position that best needs contained. My personal favorite games are the ones where we play a team that has a standout forward/midfielder. It is my job to mark up on that person for the entire duration of the match. Every single player I have defended has had a career low scoring game while playing my team. Not only does my versatility stand out, I have a certain advantage over opponents with me being left footed. I can use both feet to make plays instead of just one with my ambidextrous-like ability. Although I have a strong love for soccer, my academics have always been my priority. I would love to attend a university that not only meets my sports related needs, but my classroom ones as well. I think it says a lot when an athlete can maintain such a high GPA while having a full soccer schedule, which I do. I am so excited to make the most of my college experience!
