Personal Statement
My name is Lilian Ofik and I have been playing soccer since I was 7.
What makes me a good candidate for the team? The fact that I have speed and strength. The moment I get a hold on the ball, I couple my speed and my strength in retaining the ball to achieve literal goals. I am the captain of my school's female soccer team and the captain of my school's relay team, this shows, as I have already said, that I couple my speed, the speed I get from my running abilities, and my strength, the strength I get from my soccer abilities, to attain beautiful results.
What makes me different from other recruits? In reference to character, I would be perfectly honest and say it is the fact that I am a tom boy. I look at soccer with an entirely different angle, I see soccer the way a man would see soccer and I play the way a man would play. I don't pause to see who is in front of me and feel intimidated, I try my luck and show them what practice makes perfect.
In reference to athletics, when my name is called among individuals who know me, the first thing that comes to their head is "athlete", even more so I have been told based on my steps (The way I walk) that I look like an athlete. I sprint and I play soccer, I feel those are two very important things needed for efficient play in soccer, and also two very important things needed to be a good athlete.
In reference to academics, I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA in the best school in Nigeria, Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja. I also attained a score of 1240 out of 1600 in SAT, and 108 out of 120 in TOEFL.
Along with all the qualities I have, I am also an artist with an outstanding portfolio, and with this quality I am using it to study animation as it is my dream to be an animator.
