My name is Lily Pollard. I have been playing soccer since the first grade. The soccer field is where I am most confident and find purpose. When I tried out for my first real competitive team, I didn’t make the cut. That experience made me realize I had to do better if I wanted to continue playing soccer. From then on, I committed myself to training at a high level and pushing myself to always perform at my absolute best. Adversity does not scare me and I use it to improve my game. It’s also important to me to encourage my teammates and emphasize a team first attitude. Whether it’s club, school, or ODP, I embrace the chance to prove myself and learn from others. Win or lose, I learn something from every game. I have always done well in the classroom and push myself by taking honors classes. I would love the opportunity to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level while pursuing my academic goals.
