Well, my name is Monica, I am sure everyone may say it, but I play because I love the sport and it is true. Soccer is the only sport I do all year long. My freshman year I got on JV it was a great experience to be with others who I didn't know and got very close to and could get along with both on and off the field. Soccer has become a big part of my life after big life experiences. I am currently graduated from high school and due to some recent and unexpected family financial issues I was forced to take a year off from school and will be looking to continue for fall 2018. A lot has changed and to me, my biggest accomplishment was Junior year, when I received the MVP award from my coach and the sectionals honorable mention award, it was a huge honor and meant a lot. I improved so much from my sophomore year, after being so privileged my sophomore year to be the only sophomore to be on the varsity team out of the first team. A domino effect occurred when girls felt challenged and pushed to prove themselves to show they should be on varsity. Although our scores weren't the best to have , all the girls gave it all their energy and effort to do the best. It was about being able to do your best, giving it our 200% and working as a team. There is no I in team and we wouldn't have improved as much as we did if it wasn't for all the effort and time we put into our team. I am so thankful to have been able to have the opportunity to have played on both JV and Varsity it was an honor to learn so much as I did and playing in college would be a dream. Being realistic sometimes I don't feel it will happen and plan on going into a Major of Business, but I want to do it while living and playing with the dedication I have for soccer. I play a lot in the winter indoor and outdoor both, I play against Grown ups such as men or boys, I have as well played Co-Ed. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
