Personal Statement
Anna Drexel
2023 Graduating Class
Forward/Outside Back
My name is Anna Drexel and I’ve been playing soccer for over 10 years, I recently started at Striker in the fall of 2021 , started at Left Outside Back for the 2020 State Semi Finalist and started in the Kentucky State Championship game as a freshman. During the season I learned and experienced how one player can make a difference but it takes a team effort to accomplish an ultimate goal. Soccer is my passion, and I aspire to play collegiate level soccer. My personal goal is to continue to craft my skill set through my National League travel team, Kentucky ODP and just plain hard work. With great role models, a consistent dedication to improvement, and the God given gifts of speed, quickness and agility, I truly expect to reach my goal of playing soccer in college. I never dreamed that I would be on the ODP State Team and would have the opportunity to play international soccer and at a National Level. Each time a door like that opens it just spurs me on to work harder than before. It keeps making me realize that through hard work and dedication that dreams really do come true. I know that whichever program decides to choose me that there will not be one player on that team that will work harder or be more grateful than I will.
I am currently a junior at Greenwood High School and will graduate in 2023. My GPA is 3.93 and my favorite classes are Physics and Algebra 2. I would like to explore working as a Physical Therapist one day. When I’m not traveling with my National League team, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, attending other sporting events and working out. I have a great family and great friends who understand my dream of collegiate soccer and offer unwavering support.
Thank you for your time and God Bless!
