Personal Statement
In college I hope to successfully prepare myself for adulthood, as well as earn the education I’ve been striving towards since freshman year of high school. I also hope to build lasting friendships and better my ability to work with others to overcome issues and solve problems on my own. On a team, I value respect and encouragement for one another. As a team member myself, I try to implement and practice these things, because without them, the team will not be able to do well. Being able to truly support your teammates in their pursuits and endeavors, as well as respect them as a person and a player, requires a genuine love for the game and for the ones you play it with. Not only am I able to be a good teammate for the girls I play with, but I am also a dedicated student and community member. I regularly attend debate, state government, and international policy conferences, as well as regularly practice criminal and civil law in the courtroom (I am in a career building program at a separate high school from Scott County; my field of choice was Law and Justice). I also volunteer at the Amen House and Salvation Army with my church. My dedication to service and bettering myself, when combined with my ability to be the best teammate I can, would make me a good addition in any environment.
