Personal Statement
Greetings, my name is Alayah Lander and I am a Sophomore at Christian County High School, class of 2024.
My love and passion for soccer started at the young age of 3 years old. Growing up playing soccer at the YMCA and on travel teams helped me develop into the player that I am today as Christian County Lady Colonel.
My goal and aspiration at a young age was play at the collegiate level and eventually, earn the opportunity to play soccer at the professional level.
With soccer being my first love, I’m a firm believer that academics and achievements in the classroom are just as important as playing soccer. My plan is to pursue a degree in Nursing.
Two characteristics that I possess are: positivity and a strong work ethic which are displayed on the field and in the classroom daily.
In closing, having the right mindset separates the average from the greats! For me, the game of soccer is more than physical. It’s also about the ability to combine the physical and mental to have an established strategic approach. I fight hard and leave it all out on the field and in the classroom in spite of the current situation. That’s my dedication to becoming great and leaving a lasting impression. I always remembering my uncle always telling me that without knowledge and skills, that talent means nothing. With knowledge and skills, talent mean everything! These attributes make me the best candidate for your program and university.
