Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, playing soccer has always been a part of my life, whether it was in my backyard with my sister, at a tournament with a club team, or aiming for the title of MAISAD champions with my high school. Even as I have developed as a person, my love for the sport has only grown with me. It has always been a goal of mine to be able to play in college, and I have aspired to become a better player and teammate to help make those dreams a reality.
As a defender and captain on the field, I can lead the team and keep morale high even as the odds seem to be stacked against us. When somebody on my team makes a mistake, I try to lift them up and encourage them to continue to try their best, not degrade them as a player. I have a strong work ethnic on and off the field and am always dedicated when trying to reach my goals. When playing soccer, I have found that a positive attitude and the ability to have fun in a game to be one of the strongest motivators, leading to a strong team dynamic and a successful season.
I am very academically motivated as well. I have been on the high honor roll every term for my three years at my high school, and my unweighted GPA is a 96. I have been awarded by my school the math and english book awards, the Smith college book award, and am apart of the honors Spanish society. I have taken 4 honors classes and 3 AP classes, and in my senior year will take 1 honors class and 3 AP classes.
