Personal Statement
Hello. My name is Brooke Blockler and I am currently a junior at Dexter Regional High School. Freshman year, I moved to Dexter from Old Town to be in a better community and closer to family. Starting junior year off with a good start for the team was an understatement, we are currently 3-2-3 in the season. I am a starter for the varsity team at left full-back. I did play keeper for a few years, in which I trained with RiverCity in Bangor throughout the season. This year alone, I have accomplished more than I have in the years that I have been playing. I joined Central Maine United in Waterville to further expand my training to more than the season itself and I have made more connections with my teammates and coaches. I believe that with a good environment and coaching staff, then anyone is able to learn how to play soccer. I wasn't raised with just playing soccer, I played multiple different sports including field hockey and basketball. Through these, I've learned that I as a person need to adapt and take in everything I need to learn to better myself and the team. In the end, I'm hoping to get recruited to a school that would help both my athletic ability and my career passion. I've had help from players at the University of Maine who helped with conditioning throughout the summer as well as Maine Maritime Academy.
