My parents have told me that I've been very competitive from an early age. This is probably due to the fact that I grew up with a twin brother and an older brother (6 yrs older). I remember that I had to try to beat my twin brother at everything, whether riding a bike or running (and I still do). I started playing soccer when I was 6 years old on his boy's team since they were more competitive. As time went on, I started playing on various girl's recreational teams and was consistently one of the top players. I possessed speed, ball skills and a powerful kick. At 14 years old, I decided to move up to a higher-level traveling team. For some reason, I did not build a bond with that particular team so it stopped being fun. As a consequence, I stopped playing competitive soccer. However, my love for "the beautiful game" never went away. I continued to practice dribbling and ball control skills.
When I got into high school (Walt Whitman High School), the girl's Varsity Soccer Team won state championships that year. I decided to try out and as a sophomore made the JV team as a forward/outside midfielder. I also got accepted to an EDP Girls U17 traveling team (Potomac Soccer) to improve my field awareness and in-game skills. I now love playing again thanks to some great teammates and coaches. This experience made me realize how important it is to find the right coach and team that suites me to help me play to my fullest potential. I continue working to improve my tactical game skills, breakaway speed and agility, ball control skills, and shooting accuracy to become an indomitable player in the forward and outside midfielder position.
At school, I am quite studious with a 3.5 GPA and lean towards STEM courses. I have completed Honors Biology and Honors Geometry courses, and I am currently enrolled in Honors Chemistry and Digital Electronics courses. I will be pursuing a college degree that is related to STEM such as engineering. Thus, I'm looking for a soccer program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. And I believe that I have the athletic/academic talent, the right character, and the work-ethics to make a positive impact to any program!
