Personal Statement
I've always had a passion for soccer. From off the field, making a connection with team players. To on the field, combining individual talents to make a team great. I love experiencing that feeling where I overcome challenges that were set as goals before the game. I hope to continue that experience through college and later on in my career. Before every game I think of how I can improve myself on a specific part of the game. A top priority is achieving that goal in order to improve my ability. If I don't, I figure out different ways to achieve that goal. Achieving isn't just stopping when I get it right but until I perfect it and I never get it wrong again. I feel that's a big part of the game, persistence. That's a trait I've seen myself and very few have. To have persistence you have to have heart. Whether it's losing the ball and being persistent to get the ball back or being ahead in the game and not allowing the opponent to come back in the game. I have heart for this game and i'm always hungry to learn more. I'm a team player. I urge to create a bond with each teammate and learn how my talents can connect with theirs to creates beneficial plays for the team. I've been told specific areas I could improve on. Most importantly, I made something out of it. I used to be able to only shoot with my right foot, i'm dominate with both now. I used to be afraid to hold on to the ball, I now encourage myself to see how far I can get. I used to be shy on the field, now i'm one of the loudest voices out there. I hope to continue all of that at a D2 level. I'm still open to all divisions and willing to be committed to any division. I live in Maryland so I would prefer a school in state or close to home but i'm open to looking into other colleges elsewhere. I also hope to find a program that fits my interest of study, medicine as a pediatrician or physical therapy for sports medicine. I am excited and interested in seeing each school with their soccer programs and medicine programs and how it fits me.
