Personal Statement
Since I was four years old, I've been passionate about the game of soccer. There's never been a day that I haven't wanted to train and compete. My strength as a player is my technical and tactical expertise and my soccer IQ. My intelligence both on the soccer field and in the classroom, along with my grit and perseverance to achieve my athletic and academic goals are what make me an excellent candidate to play soccer at a top academic college. Beyond soccer and academics, I have a love for serving others. I have a compassionate spirit that has led me to pursue opportunities to help others and to put my personal spiritual faith into practice. In February 2019 and 2020, I had an opportunity to serve others through a service trip with my church to Guatemala. I also developed and organized a soccer uniform drive to send used uniforms to under developed communities around the world. The love and commitment I feel for serving children less fortunate than myself is a love that I can only compare to how I feel about soccer-pure joy and satisfaction. The opportunity to help others through sharing what I have been blessed with is deeply moving and humbling. I plan to continue to participate in opportunities that allow me to improve the world around me. I desire to use the platform and opportunities that I have through soccer and academics to continue to find ways to help others. I believe that a college education that will nurture these two passions will be an excellent foundation to achieve the goals I have for my life.
