Personal Statement
Everyday at training, especially in the brutal heat, I go through tedious drills or gruesome runs. But in the end I realize I do this, going through pain and sacrificing comfort to become a better player, and sacrifice is love. I sacrifice comfort and ease for soccer because I love the game.
On the field I fly down the wing, beat the defender, and cross the ball in to the attacking players at a chance to score. I spend most of my time in the outside midfield position, but also play forward as a secondary position and am willing to play other positions for a coach if he/she prefers because I am willing to learn the game from all perspectives of the field.
The past two years I’ve trained with Michael Haynes, the head men’s coach at Lasell College, during the offseason. Working on technique and tactics while also enduring intense conditioning, the most prominent value I’ve learned is that you can always push yourself to do more than you think you can. My potential has no limits, especially with my positive mindset and strong will power. I’ve been inspired to always go the extra step to achieve greatness in everything I do.
My academics are my number one priority. I am an honors student who is persistent to maintain a high gpa by succeeding in all honors and multiple AP classes throughout high school. I compete in the classroom as well as on the soccer field. I am also heavily involved with clubs, volunteer service, and work part time.
I believe all of these assets will be a strong contribution to a collegiate soccer team, and I am very excited to know that coaches may consider me as a prospective student athlete for their program.
