Personal Statement
My name is Kendall Holmes. I began playing soccer when I was 6 years old and fell in love with the game from the start. I started my high school season as a starter on varsity in the 20-21 season, along with playing for my club team Seacoast United DPL. I dream to continue playing soccer throughout college, continuing to grow as an athlete. I strive to be the best athlete and student I can be by maintaining good grades and excelling in soccer.
I truly believe in leadership by example and strive to always set a good example for everyone on my team by being one of the hardest workers out there. My strength on the field is my work ethic, dominance, speed, and control.
My main position I am placed on the field is Striker but I quite often play outside back as well. Having an offensive mindset helps me to excel out of the defensive line and create play up to the offense.
School work is just as important if not more important. I am in all honors courses and currently have a weighted 4.0 GPA. My passion is to become a surgeon or doctor. Taking on the challenges to reach my goals is what I look forward to most.
My work ethic, control and leadership is something I truly believe will make a positive impact to my college team.
Its important to add that I suffered from an injury in my sophomore year of high school varsity season 2021 and was unable to play all season. In August right before my season was supposed to begin as a starter on varsity for highschool I tore a major tendon in my knee and sprained my ACL. This put me out for three months with just enough time recover and return to play in my last 2 games of the season. When I safely returned just in time to play in those games I had severely injured the same knee again. I tore my meniscus and fractured my knee cap, so I then faced surgery to fix everything. Recovery time total is three months so I will return to play by April just in time for my Seacoast United (NH) 21-22 DPL season.
