Personal Statement
Since age 5, Soccer has been a staple in my life. The beautiful game has given me so many gifts but most importantly it has given me mental and physical fortitude in my daily life. Soccer has taught me many valuable lessons along the way, including the importance of teamwork, competitiveness, and playing with passion. Soccer has also provided me with the confidence to take on classes in my life I never thought I could do such as Mandarin Chinese. I feel my competitiveness, confidence and passion has helped me succeed now in my 3rd year in Mandarin.
I currently play for the FC Stars 2003/2002 ECNL Regional Blue team, as well as Hopkinton High School’s girls varsity soccer in Hopkinton, MA. I was taught at a young age by my academy coach to never turn down an opportunity to play somewhere different on the field. I took this to heart and while I feel comfortable primarily at center back and outside back, I also enjoy playing outside midfield and holding midfield (rumor has it I have been known to step in as goalkeeper, but I cannot confirm or deny that).
I look forward to carrying all these wonderful gifts soccer has given me to the collegiate level, where I can further my academic and athletic career. While Mandarin is a passion of mine, I am interested in Business/Communications, Psychology, and International Relations.
I look forward to communicating with you! Thank you and be well!
