Personal Statement
Soccer has taught me more about myself than anything else. It's taught me focus, discipline, leadership, resilience and mental toughness, and to see the world just like the field, from a broader perspective. From acquiring my absolute love of soccer at the young age of five, I've been able to keep the same appreciation for the sport while elevating my level of play. I've always been an extremely coach-able player, which has allowed me to train with a unique blend of coaching styles, such as multiple club teams, the Massachusetts Olympic Development Program, and the New England Revolution Goalkeeper academy. I put an emphasis on technical training, although as a goalkeeper I understand that team management, adaptability, and quick decision making are also essential to the position. Something I always keep in check is a positive attitude. Having injuries throughout my career, I've made sure to keep myself and my team in high spirits no matter the situation.
These traits followed me from the pitch to the classroom. An AP and Honors student, I balance the demands of a rigorous schedule on and off the field. In my eyes, the perfect college opportunity will allow me to continue to grow as an athlete, while also challenging me academically. I'm excited for my college journey ahead!
