Isabela Avelar '17 Recruiting Profile

My dream has always been to play college soccer and be able to find a College or an University that will make me successful as a student athlete and be successful in my academics as well.  My whole life I have worked really hard to achieve my goals. I was born in Brazil moved to the United States when I was ten years-old, I had to work very hard to adapt to a new environment and learn how to speak English. My life experiences, allowed me to grow as a person and become the person that I am today.  I am a very oriented, great leader and I like to set my goals high and never give up on them.  As a captain in my high school soccer team, I have always pushed my team to their highest standards. I'm a very vigorous, competitive, and fast athlete. As a striker, I had the responsibility to score and assist in scoring goals. Due to my position on my team. I worked hard everyday in making sure my team was all involved in the game. My characteristics is what got me to win the Atlantic Coast League All Star award, Most Valuable player, and The Coaches Award. My love for soccer influenced me in wanting to major as a Physical Therapist. For the past year, I had an amazing opportunity to volunteer at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. I hope to find a college that fits me perfectly for the athletics and for my academics.
