When I was little, I used to play all positions in soccer. Coaches would always put me on the left side because I could use both feet, even at a young age when nobody else could dribble or kick with their left foot. I was also never afraid of the ball. Because of this, I would be put in net. I have loved the position since 4th grade, making saves and helping to control the game from the back. I currently play for the FC Stars 2004 ECNL East White team, and have played on varsity for my high school since I was a freshman. I was the starting keeper as a sophomore, playing every minute of every game sophmore year. This is something that I am very proud of achieving, because I had to work my way up from the bottom as the backup my freshman year. This taught me the value of hard work, and that eventually, working hard will pay off. My most memorable moment from this season was when I led my team to win the DCL tournament for the first time in 18 years.
I also play basketball for my school, making varsity as a sophomore as well, playing as the starting center. I am involved in the younger community of upcoming athletes in our town, helping to run clinics for them for soccer and basketball with my teammates so that they can improve their skills. I am a member of the Scouting community, having earned both the Bronze and Silver Awards, and am currently working on the Gold Award.
My academics are very important to me. I enjoy my science and technology classes at school, as well as my English class because I love to read. I am taking all honors classes in school. I want to study biomedical engineering in college because I want to make prosthetics for people when I graduate.
I pride myself on my coachability, work ethic, and academic striving to always achieve the best that I can. I believe that these aspects will help me to thrive in a college student-athlete environment.
