Hi. I'm Tierney, and I'd like to thank you for your interest in my profile. I've added a little about me below to help you get to know me better as a individual and an athlete. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
I've played soccer since I was 5-years old, and it was the first team sport I fell in love with, and I've been dreaming about playing soccer at the college level as long as I can remember. I appreciate the strategy and mental elements of the game, but I also enjoy the competition and physical nature of it. My primary position would be Forward/Striker, but I have played a good deal of wide / attacking Mid as well. I am an aggressive goal-scorer, comfortable striking with both feet and confident with my ability to head the ball. I love putting the ball in the back of the net and setting up open teammates to do the same.
I enjoy team sports, and all the opportunities they offer. I also love to learn new things, so a few years ago I began exploring new athletic interests outside of soccer: diving and football. Last fall, I was the starting kicker on the Varsity Football team while also competing on the Varsity Dive team. I continue to compete in these two sports this Fall as well.
I started diving as a sophomore but had never played football prior to the fall season. Adding these two sports has helped me become a more well-rounded athlete in so many ways. Competing in two varsity programs during the same season, managing practice and game schedules while also working hard in school, requires a great deal of discipline and focus, but I found it to be really rewarding.
I work out every day. It helps me manage the daily stresses of life while staying healthy, strong and motivated. Weight and cardio training with my dive, football, and soccer teams has helped me add a lot of power and quickness to all aspects of my game.
I am a student-athlete at heart, and I enjoy challenging myself in each aspect of my life while striving for balance in both. I work as hard in the classroom as I do on the field, and I've been able to balance my athletic interests while maintaining a 3.99 GPA. My current academic schedule includes two rigorous AP courses in Government and English literature. I am also near-conversationally fluent in German.
I enjoy helping people, and I have a strong desire to stay involved with athletics well-beyond the end of my own playing career. So, in college,I'm looking to pursue a degree in athletic training and/or physical therapy as these degrees will help me realize my goals.
For fun, I enjoy listening to music and spending time with my friends. In the summer, I work as a lifeguard and dive instructor at a local pool.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me better.
