Personal Statement
I began playing soccer at age 5, I have continued because of how much I love the game. Now, at 17 years old, going into my senior year of high school, I want to continue to be a student-athlete and play soccer. I have had a highly experienced club coach that helped me bring my love for soccer to a whole new level. He taught me to build the technical skills that I need individually, while also learning how to help my teams to understand how beneficial team-work is and how to approach the tactical part of the game. This built my confidence in all parts of the game. Despite Covid and some of the hardships that brought, I had been faced with an additional challenge of tearing my acl during the 2019 fall season. However, I capitalized on the opportunity to recover, train, and get myself back returning after 6 months to play with Midwest in the GAL in the fall of 2020. I had a starting position on my high school varsity team my freshman year and I was nominated captain this spring season, lead the team to our second ever district win and the farthest in school history, and I was just nominated for first team all conference. I believe if I continue to work towards soccer, and also school, I have the ability to play at the top college level.
