Marcelina Powalka '20 Recruiting Profile

I have played soccer for well over 10 years now, and it is a sport that I have really grown to love. It has taught me many very important values such as how to always be a hard worker through both the ups and downs. Every time I step out onto the field I strive to do the best I can, and to improve, while also helping my teammates and having fun. The same goes for when I am in the classroom. School is quite honestly one of my favorite places to be because there is so much to gain from it. However, sometimes the best way to learn is by messing up a few times. Therefore, I am different than many of my peers, because I choose to keep my head up even during frustrations. That is one of my best qualities, and rather than just keeping it to myself, I spread the encouragement to everyone around me. 

My aspirations for the future include majoring in Exercise Science and playing soccer at the collegiate level, all while being a beacon of joy and happiness for ALL people I encounter.
