Collegiate Goals/ Aspirations:
Ever since I was young, soccer has been a big part of my life and has helped shape who I have become. As I’ve gotten older, I have set my mind to the fact that I want to play collegiate soccer. I aspire to play with a positive, high level, and competitive collegiate team. I believe I have what it takes to play at the next level, and I want to work with a coach/team that believes in me too.
Why I am a good candidate for your program?
Based on my soccer resume, I believe I am a “diamond in the rough.” I have played for some of the best clubs in the state of Michigan up to 8th grade (Nationals Oakland- multiple coaches; Michigan Hawks- Doug Landefeld). I feel I have extraordinary fundamentals from my soccer “roots,” and my current local club/coach (Jack Stockdale) has ensured my maintenance of those skills, and has helped me shore up my confidence as a player.
What makes me different than other recruits?
CHARACTER? I come from a big family and I am 1 of 5 children. Coming from a big family has helped shape my character in many ways. It’s like I’m constantly on a “team” in my home and I have learned to look out for my siblings, and have learned to push myself to be better not only for my personal gain but for my family as well. I am also competitive (ask my siblings). I am competitive in all areas of my life (sometimes to a fault), but it has allowed me to also be very successful as a soccer player. I take pride in my abilities and am proud to fight for what I want and believe in.
ATHLETICS? I have always been known as one the most athletic girls in my grade, and I always like to beat my older brothers (and younger siblings too!) in sports any chance I get. I have competed in many sports throughout my life- from gymnastics as a little girl, to volleyball through high school, to snowboarding, and soccer since I was 5 years old. And as I said above, I have played for some of the best clubs in the state of Michigan. My formative soccer years were with some of the best teams/players in the girls ‘06 birth year. I believe if matched with these former teammates (many who have earned Division I scholarships), I feel I could still hold my own and dominate.
ACADEMICS: I believe academics are important. I currently have a 3.4 gpa, and am currently taking two AP classes this school year. Although college is 2 years away for me, I know that doing well in school will be important not only for my athletic eligibility, but it will be important for me to be successful in my chosen degree.
