Personal Statement
My grandpa teases me about how he knew I would be an elite athlete from the time I was very small. I would get more excited about playing with a ball than anything else. I was incredibly active and had a high sports IQ from the time I could run. They said I never learned to walk, just to run. This all became more evident as I started out playing soccer co-ed at 5 years old and never looked back. I also enjoyed basketball, tennis, swim team, parkour, and running, basically anything that involved being active and having fun while doing so.
I have since narrowed my focus down to playing soccer year around, as well as futsal from November to March. My goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level, at an athletically selective school. I am currently a 4.0 student and will take AP and IB classes in the next three years of high school.
I am a very hard worker, consistently in the top of my team for the Beep test. As a center back, I stay calm on the ball while drawing opposition in before releasing the ball. I am strongly left footed and use that to my advantage. I have great long pass accuracy and frequently use that ability to put the ball at a forwards feet. Our team builds from the back and I start that off with quick, grounded passes that are easy to turn on. I am fast and frequently beat opposition in 1 on 1 runs while pushing them to the outside, while also having a great slide tack when needed.
To maintain the level necessary to compete in one of the ECNL's top clubs, I am dedicated to all team practices and video sessions, Next Level Training, Med Sport training and injury prevention, yoga, futsal for foot skills, speed and accuracy, and personal weight training at the gym. I enjoy networking with other top athletes in the state and am excited to work with others from around the country in the future.
Team dynamics and positive coach relationships are important to me. I maintain a positive, coachable attitude and seek fun and positivity in others. I support success in my teammates as much as I do my own.
I am interested in finding a college match at the highest competitive level possible.
