Summer of 2017 I spent one hot week in Blaine, Minnesota. With my teammates by my side where we lost in quarterfinals to a phenomenal team who went and got first place overall. That week was full of experiencing a lot of wicked good soccer teams and growing as a player. Growing up in a small town located in West Michigan, I was surrounded in various different soccer clubs. My family introduced me to the beautiful game of soccer. I began playing at age 4, and joined my first team when I was 6. Ever since then my love for the sport has only grown. Throughout the past decade or so, I've learned a lot about myself. I love working with others and growing close with my coaches and my team, but none of that is as close as I love playing the sport. Whether it's a win or a loss, I still smile at the end of the game. I enjoy playing soccer, and I love being a leader. I learned about adapting to everything, whether it's your coach yelling at you every game, or just a muddy field, the other team has to deal with it too. Overall, I've been a captain on every team I've played on in the past 3 years. I enjoy teaching others and learning more and more myself. I attend Fruitport High School, currently I have an overall 3.7, I plan on rising that to at least a 3.8. I am an active member in our National Honors Society, helping out in and out of the community. I attend our Spanish Club for every meeting and enjoy speaking the beautiful language of Spanish. For college, I would love to have a chance to go. Currently, I want to go into the health field, specifically something along the lines of nursing. Not all coaches are going to love you, or even like you. I have had coaches continuously put me down and want me to just give up. I continued to preserve and work hard and be the very best I could. There was times I just wanted to throw the towel and give up, but I never did. I am so proud that I never quit. I am told often that I am a character. I’m always smiling, always trying to assist someone whether it's small or large. I support and believe in every person I meet. I never give up on anyone. I love the people around me, and I love myself. Learning to love myself was probably one of the harder experiences I have gone through. I think of myself as intelligent, because I continue to work hard if I get it wrong or right. Hopefully one day we can meet up and talk about future soccer plans, but for now, thanks for viewing this.
