Hi, my name is Lauren Moody! I am currently in 9th grade at Lake Fenton High School and I am 14, born in 2009. I love sports and have played just about every one. I started playing soccer when I was only 3 years old, then when I was 8, I joined a local club called LaForza. While I was at that club I played with the 2009’s and 2008’s. When I was 11, I also played with the 2007’s. Then our small club got added as a branch to the Michigan Jaguars. I came to decide that I really wanted to challenge myself and take my soccer to the next level. I had the work ethic and determination that I knew could help me get there. So I started practicing with the Michigan Jaguars 2009 GA team. I loved how fast they played, the coaches, and how it challenged me even more. I tried out for the team in May of 2022 and made it!
Some other sports I currently play are basketball and volleyball, Though soccer will always be my favorite. My goal with soccer is to play at a college with great academics, And eventually to play for the USWNT and or NWSL. I know I have big dreams but I also know that if I work hard and stay determined, they can happen!
I love soccer because of the feeling of getting to run on the fresh grass (and turf!), scoring goals, being with my teammates, getting to travel all over the country (and someday hopefully the world), and escaping from other stressful things in life. I want to play in college to have the experience of being a student-athlete - being able to play soccer at a higher level and have the opportunity to represent my school.
I have always been top of my class in academics. In all my years of middle school, I have had a 4.0. I have been part of the National Honor Society since 5th grade and have always worked hard in school. To me, academics are just as important as sports. This year I am taking 4 advanced classes (the most I can). I also am planning to complete 4 years of Spanish, hoping to study abroad in Spain in college. When it comes to schooling, I am interested in the medical field. A few jobs that seem interesting to me are a dermatologist, cardiologist, or a neuroscience medical sales rep.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me!
Lauren
