Hi, Elizabeth Jewell here, I go by Liz for short. I love playing soccer, I started playing when I was 5. I didn't start club soccer until I was 10, that's when I started playing for MI Lightning. My main position is forward however on my SuperY team, Liverpool 04 Girls Redknapp, I played left back and we won the national championship during the 2018 season. I also made the Rochester High School, girls's soccer varsity team as a freshman in 2019, and have earned a starting spot. During my 2018-2019 seasons I scored a total of 28 goals and had 20 assists. Although I did not have a 2020 high school season due to COVID-19, during my club season (2019-2020) I was able to score 15 goals and had 12 assists. I've learned in soccer that talent doesn't come from your feet it comes from your head, decision making proves the difference between good players and great players.
My academics are very important to me. I have a 3.98 GPA and I keep my academics as my number one priority! I like to challenge myself with AP and Honors courses to prepare myself for college. In college I'm very interested in playing soccer while studying for a degree in Engineering. In school I am apart of the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, Key Club, and History Club. I have also earned awards for the Honor Roll, Falcons of Distinction Award, Scholar Athlete Award, a VEX Robotics competition award, and a Captain's Award for track.
I'm looking for a college that will fit me athletically and academically. I'm a very motivated and driven person and I work hard under any circumstance, and on the field I'm a leader and I value team work.
Thank you for reading my personal statement and viewing my profile!
