Personal Statement

As a 2016 North Storm team captain and consistent starter, I value communication and not being selfish, on and off the field.  I just finished my first season on Varsity at West Senior High as a 14 year old freshman,  and was a regular starter (playing 80 minutes a game), as a Center Defender and sweeper, as well as left and right back. I can pswitch to the midfield too. I understand how to read the field, and never give up and know how to keep my cool, this helps me make smart decisions on the field. I am currently playing on a U16 Club team for Tbays. My demonstrated academic and soccer success, as a student, defender and midfielder, has been built upon these beliefs and active behaviors, and this supports my being a student athlete worth investing in. When I make a commitment to give my teammates my personal best, I do just that....physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. I always do my best to support my teammates, to communicate on the field, and truly honor my commitments to myself and others.  I am raised by both my parents, who have taught me the value of hard work, a positive attitude and the importance of actively listening, taking feedback from others and learning from my own mistakes along the way. My hope is that I can attend a high caliber academic school, one which offers stimulating, creative curriculum, along with a competitive soccer program,  so I can obtain the best education possible, which still playing the game I love.. I am currently interested in studying forensics investigation and/or behavioral analysis/medicine. I love reading a good mystery, enjoy cooking, photography and drawing, as well as baking homemade pastries, cakes and cupcakes. I have catered birthday parties, weddings and baby showers and have eleven years of volunteer experience as a Cherry Festival Volunteer. See you on the field!
