Hello, I am Joy VanDam. I have a hope and dream of becoming a college athlete. I am a Junior at Zeeland East High School in Michigan. I am a left-footed player and I play outside defense which I have been playing my whole life. I have a major passion for sports and most importantly soccer, I believe that you can be as good as you want to be as long as you try your hardest and always be on your A - game. I play Varsity soccer, as well as varsity basketball. I am also a point guard or wing for basketball. One of my goals is to make it to college for soccer as the "big picture". I believe one of the biggest aspects of me playing soccer is being a team player and always helping people and being there for them. Being a leader to everyone surrounding me. I love the relationship that teams have and being able to bond in and out of season. I always try to have a new goal every game and be very focused and know what I need to work on to win the game and keep people from getting around me at all times. My biggest aspirations are being able to compete at a level I never thought I could compete in doing, but like I always say, " you can do anything if you believe you can". I love the game of soccer and want to take things on to a new level. The discipline in practice shows in a game. The more hard work you put into the game the more you fall in love with the game and become better every day. I am a good student and love the teachers here at Zeeland East supporting and guiding me every day. One other thing that is necessary to mention is I play for USA soccer club team and I am a premier starter for my team, as well as playing left back defender. I couldn't have been where I am today without Coach Jason Hunter and Coach Grit helping me aspire my dreams in what I want too pursue.
