Me and my family found out I had a benign brain tumor at the age of 4. I had it surgically removed. I had to re-learn how to walk again, I became left handed (I was right handed before). I had physical therapy and occupational therapy 4 time a week. I grew up around people who cheered me on and helped me to get better. I had a team who cared about me (which might have been the start of my love for team sports!). When I was five I started soccer, I had terrible balance but I always persisted. I am now 16 and still have trouble from time to time but I always get back up. I am very aggressive on the field, it's my time to have fun and let go. I always have A's and B's. If I don't understand something I make sure to ask. At school I'm involved in high school soccer, lacrosse (2 years), golf (starting this year), and speech (1 year). I am in the environmental club and on the core team of Royal Connections ( a club where general education students and special education students get to have fun together). I also am on the Royal Ambassador committee, which is a group of people who strive to make the student voices heard to the principal and beyond. I am a strong defender, I love 1 V 1's on the field. I have confidence in the game, which sometimes I like in day to day life. I love being a sun in a cloudy day for people, or making people laugh. I want to experience life to it's fullest. The aspect of being able to go to soccer after my stressful classes in college is amazing, I love that I will automatically have a support system in place.
