Personal Statement
Being on a soccer field makes me feel alive, at peace and comfortable all at once. I don’t think that is possible anywhere else. I am so excited to think that I might have an opportunity to continue playing soccer after high school at a college level. I have had tremendous growth since my freshman year and I want to keep growing. I look forward to learning and developing from a new coach and team.
I feel that I would be a strong candidate for a team as I am a student that works hard at everything I do. Not only do I strive to make myself better, but I am always willing to help others become more successful too. I aspire to be a responsible person with strong ethics. It is important to me to be respected and looked upon by others as a good person. I always try my best to be kind and friendly. I continue those values on the field with my teammates. As a player, I pride myself in being coachable while respectfully listening and appreciating any criticism or praise.
I will work hard to contribute my time and effort to uphold the goals and standards of a team. A top priority for me is giving 100% in attendance, participation, attitude and ability. My grades and extracurricular activities reflect my hard work. I am always willing to help and participate in any activity or service I am assigned to. I will maintain a required GPA, become more successful at all of my extracurricular activities, work and volunteerism. I will always be the best person I can possibly be and lead by example.
My career goal is to become a teacher to pursue my passion of history and I think I would be able to convey my passion to students. I have always found an interest in different periods of history and I know that teaching the subject would be a joy and come as second nature. In my experience, a teacher with not only knowledge but compassion about a subject makes the classroom a better learning environment. Teaching history would be a career that would give me great pleasure to journey to each day. If I could make a difference in a student’s life, like some teachers have made in mine, then I would be a success.
I look forward to beginning a new chapter in my life to work toward my career goals and continue playing a game that gives me happiness and keeps me balanced.
