Personal Statement

I have been playing sports for a long time. I would like to continue my passion and play college soccer. This year is my senior year and unfortunately I tore my ACL this past summer while playing 3v3 soccer in Columbia, MO. That means that I do not get to play my last year in high school, but this has made me realize how much I love playing soccer and how much I just want to get out on the field and play. Just because I tore my ACL does not mean that I am going to give up on my dream. This is just a minor set back and I will be even stronger and better than I was before.
I live in a very small town called Smithton, MO. My graduating class has 38 people in it so if it is possible I would like to go to a smaller college. My high school does not have a girls soccer team because we are that small of a school. I have played on the boys varsity soccer team and started on the team ever since I was a freshman in high school. I have started on varsity over senior boys. During my sophomore year I was named captain of my team. Which did not make some of the boys happy, but they still listened to me and respected me as their captain. Also during sophomore year I got all-conference soccer and I am the first and the only girl ever to get all-conference in my conference. During my junior year I was also named captain by a brand new coach because my other coach had to step down from the position. Also during this year I was named all-district.
Since I tore my ACL I would like to be a physical therapist and help people that are like me get recovered and continue their passion for sports or whatever else they do that they would like to continue to do in their life. I am a great student in school and I have a 3.2 GPA as of right now and I plan on getting that up as this year continues. I am willing to do whatever it takes to play college soccer and I am not going to give up my dream.
