Personal Statement
Soccer is a way for me to forget about all of the outside pressures of my life and because of this, I aspire to continue my soccer journey into the college level. When I am playing soccer, I feel like I can make a difference. This desire to make a difference not only drives my passion for soccer, but pushes me to excel in school and pushes me to work hard in everything I do. Throughout high school, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. Through soccer I have not only learned the importance of hard work and perseverance, but I have also seen firsthand the impact these qualities have in making a difference on and off the field. When I joined club soccer, I was on the forth ranked team for my age group in my club. I did not let this hold me back, but I used it as fuel to get better and to come back stronger. I worked hard everyday to improve my skills, including working on my skills outside of practice and games. Because of this hard work, I made the top team and eventually, a few years later, made Varsity as a Freshman at my high school. This experience not only made me a better player, but also made me a better person. It taught me that through hard work and dedication, I can achieve anything I set my mind to and that I can reach my goal of playing college soccer.
